July 20, 2026 — Montgomery, Alabama
The 30th Annual AHSAA North-South All-Star Sports Week is underway this week in Montgomery (July 20–24), bringing together the state’s best graduating senior athletes in baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, and golf.
Representing Opelika High School is infielder/outfielder Will Brandon, a 6-foot-1 utility player selected for the South baseball team. Brandon’s versatility — his ability to play multiple positions and contribute in various roles — earned him a spot among Alabama’s elite high school players this summer.
The All-Star baseball games are scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, at Gateway Park in Montgomery. This year also marks the AHSAA Summer Conference Coaching School, where head coaches across all sports complete required educational sessions and certification testing.
Because of AHSAA regulations during All-Star Week, local schools are not permitted to conduct athletic practices, allowing coaches to focus on required conference programming. The OHS Bulldogs football team, for example, resumes preparations for their August 28 season opener once the week concludes.
