Wednesday is the first night of the driving tour of the Victorian Front Porch Tour in Opelika. I did a quick tour and folks were already driving it tonight. The rain earlier had pretty much ended by 6:30 or so. The driving tour continues thru Sunday, except for Saturday when the street is closed for the walking tour and the live entertainment on the street.
Friday Night Eighth and Rail has added Rick Brantley to the entertainment for the night. I was checking out Rick’s Website for show information and discovered he’s got a great design going on. So check it out here, and join Rick for the music on Friday. Christmas in a Railroad town is also underway, so bring the kids downtown for the fun. Here’s a map of the downtown activities. Saturday it’s Martha’s Troubleand the Christmas Show at The Rail. Rob and Jen have a new Christmas Album (uh..CD) which you can probably pick up at the Tavern Saturday.
Some Quick Notes About Friday Night: Park in the lots around the Courthouse and Baptist church and grab a free courtsey Ride to the activities. Wagon Rides for Front Porch Tour (Catch a ride at 8th& Railroad) are just $1 , Trolley Rides for Front Porch Tour (Catch Ride at Museum of East Alabama) are $5, Pony Rides are $5, pictures with Santa are $5 & Up, Portrait Artist is $20 & Up. And if you’ve got your Christmas Cards Ready, or at least the envelopes, you can get them “Hand Cancelled” at the Museum of East Alabama’s old Pepperell Mill Post Office”
