July 10–11, 2026 — Lee County, Alabama

ALDOT has commenced a major $18.5 million bridge replacement project on Interstate 85 in Lee County, targeting both northbound and southbound spans over Choctafaula Creek south of Exit 50. The project was awarded to Newell & Bush Inc. of Montgomery, Alabama.

Lane closures will be limited to Sundays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to minimize daytime traffic disruption. Motorists on I-85 in the Lee County area should plan for nighttime delays throughout the construction period.
